​Many objects of daily use have a very short lifespan by design. In some cases, this cannot be avoided, such as in garments that are meant to fit somebody are some animal who is growing up. Combined with the fact that most of these objects are of low resale value, this leads to the disposal of still functional items and ultimately to excessive waste.

A simple dog harness, designed to puppies that will eventually grow in size, is one of such examples.
